New podcast! Secretos a voces: literary conversations with today’s writers to get to know the classics better

In The Burnout Society, Byung-Chul Han warns that today there is no time for deep reflection or contemplation and that, as a result, our ability to connect with ourselves has diminished. This podcast rebels against that: it aims to be a space that puts calm conversation first, relaxed and unhurried. Here, we’re not afraid of stammering, tangents, or pauses. On the contrary, we celebrate spontaneity, moments of uncertainty, and the natural way conversations flow without the rush of a tweet or a headline.

Secretos a voces: your new literary podcast

Secretos a voces (in Spanish) aims to be a meeting point with contemporary authors, those who put words to experiences that have not yet been told. It is necessary and urgent to make time for literature because, as Vargas Llosa says, literature “allows us to understand the world from a richer and deeper perspective; it reveals the complexity of the human condition and the ambiguity of reality.”

In this sense, Secretos a voces also wants to break away from the tyranny of the latest news; after all, every book that is published is a dialogue with the classics. So each guest will talk about their latest book and also about a classic that has been important to them. We need to talk about the classics. The classics reveal who we were and who we are. Long live the classics!

Lea del Pozo hosts and produces this literary podcast

Lea del Pozo, product director at tekman, has spent years sparking enriching conversations through tekman Talks, where she has interviewed leading voices in education. Now, with Secretos a voces, she brings her passion for dialogue to literature, creating a space where authors can talk at their own pace, exploring their work and the books that have shaped them. Because reading is discovering and rediscovering, and in this podcast, literature has the floor.

We asked Lea del Pozo a few questions so you can get to know her a little better.

What draws you to literature?

Lea del Pozo: I started reading early, and literature was part of my life from the start; when the time came, I decided to study philology, which is a good way to end up hating literature, but luckily that didn’t happen to me.

What makes “Secretos a voces” special compared with other literary interviews?

Lea del Pozo: Authors often have very little time in interviews, and the priority is for them to explain their book in a few words. But writing their book took a lot of words and a lot of time! We can’t ask them to sell us the book in what amounts to a tweet. The podcast aims to give authors time to wander, and also to give us, the listeners, the time we need for ideas and reflections to sink in.

Tell us why there’s a classic in every episode.

Lea del Pozo: Sometimes the classics seem distant, unrelated to us, but nothing could be further from the truth. The classics are classics precisely because they talk about who we are, about us. Literature is a continuum; it exists thanks to tradition, and it’s important to know where we come from and what has brought us here.

You should listen to the podcast if…

Lea del Pozo:
